Completion of this form is required for all students applying for the annual Student Research Awards offered by the Kansas Biological Survey & Center for Ecological Research at the University of Kansas. This summary should be three pages maximum and should include all of the following:
  • project title;
  • objectives;
  • methods;
  • expected products and significance of the proposed work;
  • brief statement of how award funds will be used.
Acceptable uses of funds: Awardees may use their funds to cover costs in only one of the two following categories: 1) travel expenses for one scientific meeting/conference; OR 2) other research-related needs: materials and supplies, equipment, research-related services (e.g., sample processing). Please be explicit in your proposal regarding how you plan to use the awarded funds.
