Thank you for your interest in our study! The purpose of this study is to examine possible brain markers of treatment response in adolescents with anorexia nervosa. Before beginning any study procedures, we will need to determine your eligibility to participate by asking you some screening questions that will take about thirty minutes.
Before we begin asking you questions to determine your eligibility, we need to give you some information about the screening questions. In order to protect your privacy, we are collecting only the minimum private information necessary to conduct this screening. Any information about you obtained from this screening will be kept as confidential as possible. Only research staff will be allowed to view or handle the information obtained or be otherwise involved in the research process. In addition to the research team, this study's research records may be reviewed by the National Institute of Health, the Office for Human Research Protections, and by departments at the University of Kansas or the University of Kansas Medical Center responsible for regulatory and research oversight.
Information obtained from this screening will be kept a minimum of seven years for publication purposes, as publication journals frequently request authors to report on the number of people who were ineligible and reasons for ineligibility. You will not be identified by name in any publication of the research results.
If this screening deems you eligible and you choose to participate, an additional consent form that provides greater study detail and information will be given to you when you come into the lab to take part in the study.
Participation in this study is entirely voluntary and you may discontinue your participation at any time. Participation in this screening does not obligate you to participate in the study.
