All University of Kansas students are required to attend Orientation to enroll in their first semester of classes. In very rare cases, a student with a significant hardship or contractual obligation may be granted an exception.

All students who would like to request an exception must complete the Orientation Exception Survey in its entirety.

Before completing the survey, please make sure you have checked all Orientation dates for availability. Orientation is offered Mon-Fri in June and July, as well as select August dates just before the start of the semester. You can check available dates through the Orientation Registration Portal in Slate and you will need your KU Online ID (a123b456) and password to log in.

Terms and Conditions:

The University of Kansas requires all new students to attend an in-person orientation session in order to enroll in their first semester of classes. Students may not enroll in classes without attending an orientation session.

Online orientation sessions are not available.

I understand that completing this form does not guarantee me an exception from attending an orientation session, and I will still be required to attend an in-person orientation session. I agree to check the e-mail I provided to learn the result of this request.
