Students are selected on the basis of the their overall achievements in the Department and on their interest in serving in an administrative capacity. Students who have served as a Loren Kennedy in the past are eligible to apply for one additional year in the program.

The goal of the program is to provide each recipient the opportunity to train in administrative areas of theatre & dance. It also provides staff assistance with administrative tasks, auditions, and special projects throughout the academic year. The students serve as ambassadors to and as advocates for their fellow students.
